Senescent cells have been hypothesized to disrupt tissue structure and function, so removing these cells could prevent or delay tissue dysfunction, extending one's life span.

Located in California, CohBar Inc is developing mitochondria-based therapeutics (MBTs) to treat several age-related and metabolic dysfunction diseases like nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), obesity, fibrotic diseases, cancer and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
